Tracey Questell
As a young girl, Tracey Questell always had a deep love for people. Her compassion for those who were hurting inspired her to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Hampton University and a Master of Arts in Rehabilitation Counseling from New York University.
Tracey began her service work as a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., mentoring young girls. Her calling is to support women who are unprepared for adulthood—many of whom have aged out of the foster care system or left unsafe housing situations, leaving them without stability or security. Lacking the necessary preparation or resources, these women often end up in shelters, jails, or unstable living conditions.
In response, Tracey founded Healing Vine Harbor, Inc. (HVH), a nonprofit organization focused on meeting the basic needs of young women, such as housing, safety, and security. HVH’s mission is to equip women through a holistic approach, guided by core values including integrity, education, work ethic, community service, self-awareness, and self-sufficiency.
Tracey brings extensive expertise in counseling, group facilitation, program development, team building, dropout prevention, college preparation, curriculum planning, and coordination. With over 20 years in the counseling and education fields, she has worked with diverse populations—including youth, women, and men—across various modalities such as drug rehabilitation, vocational rehabilitation, crisis intervention, individual and group counseling, and mentoring program development.
Having worked in multiple residential programs, Tracey understands the inner workings of residential care operations. She founded and led a college preparation program called F.A.T.C.O. (Future Advancement Through College Orientation), and has experience in hiring and training staff, budget development, and curriculum creation. She has served as an educational consultant for both the Board of Education and the Governor’s Committee for Scholastic Achievement. Throughout her 30-year career in human services, she has gained extensive experience in management, supervision, and training.
Tracey currently resides in Mint Hill, North Carolina. She is a former college counselor and advisor, and now serves as an adjunct instructor at Central Piedmont Community College. In 2023, acknowledging the importance of faith in her life, she became a member of Intentional Ministries Church. While Healing Vine Harbor has not yet opened a residential facility, Tracey remains deeply committed to its mission—spending her free time building the organization, fundraising, and hosting monthly workshops for young women (ages 18 and up) who need life management and independent living skills.
