Transforming Lives
Through Healing Vine Harbor
At Healing Vine Harbor, we believe every woman deserves the chance to rewrite her story. Through critical resources, mentorship, and holistic support, we help women break the cycles of poverty, homelessness, and instability.
After surviving domestic violence, Sharay faced homelessness and uncertainty. Healing Vine Harbor stepped in, providing emergency shelter, mentorship, and the encouragement she needed to pursue her education.
With Tracey's guidance, Sharay enrolled at Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC), taking steps toward a new beginning. But her journey wasn't easy. Sharay soon faced new challenges- she became pregnant, left school, and found herself in a cycle of unhealthy relationships. Without stability, she struggled to create a safe home for herself and her daughter.
Still, Healing Vine Harbor never stopped showing up. Through ongoing mentorship and support, Sharay found the strength to return to CPCC. Encouraged by Tracey, she applied for a work-study position and was hired - gaining valuable experience in an office setting and rebuilding her confidence. Sharay now works full-time as an Academic Advisor at CPCC.
Today, Sharay is married with a beautiful family and is a proud graduate of Central Piedmont Community College, holding Associate degrees in Applied Science in Office Management and Arts. She went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Communications from Appalachian State University. As one of Healing Vine Harbor’s first graduates, Sharay now serves on our Board of Directors.

Vanessa’s Story: From Heartbreak & Hardship to Hope & New Beginnings
Vanessa’s story begins with unimaginable hardship. Eight years ago, she faced the devastating loss of both of her parents, who passed away within nine days of each other. At the same time, Vanessa was caring for her daughter, who was struggling with emotional challenges. These life-altering events marked the beginning of years of adversity.
Eventually, the overwhelming pressures led to Vanessa losing her home, and she found herself homeless. With the help of Healing Vine Harbor, Vanessa now has a furnished home, financial assistance, mentorship, and a full-time job with benefits.
Her journey through these challenges, guided by faith and perseverance, brought her to a place of healing and restoration. With our support, Vanessa received home furnishings, grocery and gas cards, and critical financial aid. Thanks to one of our generous donors, she secured a full-time job with benefits—one she proudly began at the start of the year.
Vanessa continues to stay connected with Healing Vine Harbor. She attends our workshops, and we remain committed to mentoring and supporting her on her path forward.
Dasia’s Story: From Homelessness to Financial Independence
At just 18 years old, Dasia was living on the streets without shelter or support. Healing Vine Harbor intervened, offering immediate housing assistance and placement in transitional housing.
After successfully completing our TEACH workshops, Dasia faced another barrier: lack of transportation. Recognizing this hurdle, HVH paid for her driving lessons, helped her accumulate necessary driving hours, and ultimately gifted her a donated vehicle.
Today, Dasia works in the financial industry and is building a bright, independent future — living proof that with the right support, transformation is possible.
Every Story Matters.
These women — and hundreds more like them — are why we exist. Every workshop, every Healing Bag, every rental assistance check, every mentorship conversation — they all lead to moments of empowerment, confidence, and lasting change.
Join us in transforming more lives. Together, we can create a future where every woman has the tools she needs to thrive.
